Job Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

 

The Category Management Analyst is responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of market, customer and consumer related data in an on-going effort to increase category sales, customer satisfaction and ROI.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Support and build on customer relationship and provide responsive support and advise to grow category sales and ROI
  • Function as a consultant to the customer and internal teams, identifying opportunities to deliver category and customer growth through fact based recommendations. In addition, assess trends to identify key customer opportunities for growth
  • Collaborate with customer and internal teams for line reviews and in the areas of effective product assortment, shelf merchandising, promotional and pricing recommendations
  • Generate standardized and ad hoc reports using both internal and external data sources. Efficiently manage large amounts of data to produce clean, concise finished reports and presentations utilizing the Microsoft Office suite of programs and other visual analytics software. Have on time delivery of completed reports within the established or designated timelines
  • Develop and maintain customized Point of sales reporting tools and dashboards to effectively communicate sales trends to the customer. Upon request, follow up with ad hoc queries to support, validate or better illustrate trends in the business
  • Communicate business trends and insights to internal and external customers
  • Understand the competitive landscape and communicate any developments and changes to customers and internal teams
  • 10%+ travel
  • Will perform other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree required
  • 1-2 years related experience in Category analytic required, 3-6 years preferred
  • Analytical aptitude
  • Ability to do POS reporting
  • Ability to do customer presentations and communicate insights and category trends clearly and precisely to customer management
  • Experience in working with databases and big data
  • Experience in CM tools like JDA ProSpace and MS office like Excel/Access/Powerpoint
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Knowledge of Product catalogs, automotive aftermarket preferred.
  • Understanding of retailer POS portals preferred
  • Travel 10%+
