Job Description

Provide engineering and project management support in the areas of automated sortation system, business processes, product label application, optimal slotting strategies, physical layout and picking methods for the Fram Group Distribution Center in Hebron, KY. Provide consulting services to the Mexico DC. Provide thought leadership and implement improvement projects, using lean manufacturing concepts and visual controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct reliability studies for the distribution center’s sorter to plan maintenance expenditures and timely replacement of components
  • Implement monitoring controls to ensure optimal performance of scanners and label printers.
  • Design and implement improvements to optimize labor efficiency, material movement and space utilization. Train floor personnel and management in the changed processes.
  • Lead multi-discipline projects to optimize end to end business processes, from order entry, through production or procurement and through warehousing and transportation.
  • Be the WMS super user. Work with IT and all relevant stakeholders to enhance the WMS system and enable operational improvement. Through WMS, improve pallet cubing to reduce transportation costs.
  • Extract, analyze, and derive useful insights and conclusions from operational data to respond to questions and suggest opportunities for improvement
  • Support warehouse 3PL in operational and strategic planning endeavors
  • Coordinate with 3PL and Transportation to respond to project requests initiated by Sales or Quality

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline is required. Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering preferred.

Prior experience working in a logistics environment is preferred.

Solid oral and written communication skills with the ability to conduct negotiations and communicate at multiple levels inside and outside the company. Ability to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of people.

Ability to extract, link, cleanse, manipulate, analyze and draw meaningful business conclusions from large datasets drawn from multiple systems.

Advanced Excel analytical and modeling skills. Familiarity with mathematical optimization and systems thinking.

Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management;

Attention to detail, to deliver analysis and recommendations that are based on credible, vetted data.
