Job Title: QA Engineering Technician

City:Greenville State: OHIO                                                  


 

This position will be on 2nd shift.

Responsible for driving external and internal quality improvements. Support quality engineering to utilize the 8D and Six Sigma problem solving methodology to achieve the Quality improvements. In this position, the Quality Engineering technician will be responsible for evaluating customer and internal rejects, working with Operations and Engineering teams to drive root cause analysis and assuring implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Duties involving the implementation and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Management Systems and facilitate the implementation of Process Controls at the workplace in accordance with established Quality Management System standards, specifications and procedures.
  • Assist and train associates in the use of Quality methods for process control and analysis, identification of out of control conditions.
  • Facilitate a continuous improvement culture by instilling Plan, Do, Check, Act, and root cause corrective action methodology to eliminate waste.
  • Obtain practical knowledge and application of FMEA, PPAP, Cpk, SPC, CAR, GD&T, Gage R&R, control plans and job related computer programs.
  • Understand SAP transactions.
  • Maintain & improve Quality Systems through internal audits & compliance audits.
  • Drive root cause analysis (8Ds, CAR) for internal and external rejects.
  • Evaluate and analyze production floor quality problems.
  • Support the quality department to verify the accurate and timely calibration of measuring gages and equipment in the plant.
  • Support compliance of lab testing according to specifications.
  • Support development, deployment and maintenance of the plant's quality and continuous improvement systems.
  • Regularly collect, analyze, summarize and report process quality information to all levels in the organization.
  • Support, identify, recommend, acquire, and coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and calibration of testing equipment.
  • Perform analysis of data.
  • Support cost reduction & process improvement projects.
  • Provide analytical support & coordinate the efforts involved in resolving quality issues in regards to product failures and/or returns.

Requirements:

Associate Degree in Engineering or Related Technical field or equivalent experience

2+ years of experience in manufacturing with quality mentality focus

Knowledge of in 8D, CAR (Corrective Action Reports) and Six Sigma Problem Solving

Knowledge of ISO9001/ IATF16949 Quality System & Standards

ISO9001/IATF1694 Internal Auditor Certification a plus but not required  

Knowledge of PFMEAs, Control Plans, and APQP Documentation

Understand basic concept of SPC (Statistical Process Control) a plus but not required

Ability to read or interpret blueprint

Ability to communicate concisely at all levels inside and outside the company

Hands-on, action oriented with proven track record of achieving business goals

Team player with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

OEM/OES experience preferred but not required
