Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

City:Greenville State: OHIO                                                  


 

Manages and directs all quality activities for the plant.    Partner with other departments to ensure effective product development/revision.  Develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.  Manages quality capital projects for the plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recommends methods, materials and layouts for improvement based on manufacturing/quality/safety needs and capabilities.
  • Coordinate with outside service groups and/or engineering organizations and may be required to travel to off-site facilities.
  • Provide the highest level of internal and external customer service.
  • Facilitate multiple improvement teams in applying Six Sigma tools and techniques to achieve results
  • Manages and directs all quality activities for the plant. Execute product design to meet customer requirements and company objectives. Partner with other departments to ensure effective product development/revision.
  • Develop systems and controls to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Manages all quality capital projects for the plant.
  • Manages IATF 16949 policies, procedures system maintenance and improvements to ensure compliance and corrective actions are achieved.
  • Manages Calibration and metrology activities for improvements/upgrades.
  • Manages Production part approval process and part submission.
  • Liaison between Quality Department and the rest of the business.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of QA.

Bachelor's degree in Quality or related field.

Minimum of five years of progressive engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated skills in technical writing, blueprint interpretation, design concepts and good hands on mechanical abilities.

Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

Ability to think and plan ahead over a 1-3 year time span.

Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

Technical skills in quality assurance, safety and costing.

Strong customer orientation and ability to travel to external sites.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong team player. Experience in Lean or SixSigma Manufacturing environments. Computer proficiency.

Coaching, Mentoring, Teaching skills

Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills

Teamwork/collaborative style

Demonstrated Project Management skills of group projects.

Problem solving skills evidenced by demonstrated results in past positions

Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks.

High level of computer literacy - proficient in developing spreadsheets (Excel preferred), cc:Mail, and word processing. Current aptitude or ability/interest to master Access, PowerPoint, Minitab

Change agent with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

Strong business acumen, judgment, and maturity with the ability to differentiate strategic vs. non-strategic opportunities.

Statistics experience, education or ability to learn.

Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse work group

Process Orientation and Customer focus

Experience with ISO9001, TS16949 Quality Systems

APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Control Plans

Statistical Process Control, SPC
